We knew it was probably coming, but that doesn’t make it any easier. The lovely Debs is leaving us in June as she’s moving away. It’s the first time a tutor has had to leave The Cake College in nearly 5 years, and we know we’ll have a big gap to fill.
If you’re reading this and thinking ‘oh no, I so wanted to do her Cookie Class but never got round to it’, don’t panic – we have managed to squeeze an extra date in before she goes. At the time of writing this blog post, there are 8 places left on the Cookie Class (2 for the May date, and 6 for the June date), but we do expect them to sell quickly. You can check availability for this class and others on the calendar section of the website, which is updated in real time.
In her time with us, Debs has taught many people to create stunning iced biscuits (along with other things such as fairytale castle cakes). Just take a look at some of the cookies from previous students on our Facebook page. I have to admit that my favourite part of the class is when she says ‘right, now we’re going to pipe a rose on the tip of a cocktail stick’……the students faces are always a picture and it never fails to make me laugh, but they do all manage it!
Her Cookie Class is also the one class that other tutors have asked to come along to, which should give you an idea of how insanely talented Debs is and how many people want to learn from her, even fellow cake professionals with years of experience! Natalie came along to the class in November 2016 and blogged about it, and Jenni did the same in 2017, and you can read her blog post about her experience here.
Debs is a super talented lady, just check out some of her creations below. Our loss will be somebody else’s gain and she will be much missed.
If you want to snap up one of the remaining places at Debs’ Cookie Class before she leaves us (sob!), then head to our website now.
Happy baking and caking everyone,
