Wedding Masterclass

A four day masterclass that will equip you with a huge range of professional level skills.

This class is aimed at people with a little bit of cake decorating knowledge.  You don't need to be a professional, but will ideally have covered a cake in sugarpaste before (if you haven't, our Beginners Masterclass would be the perfect class for you). It is ideal for anybody running a cake decorating business that would like to expand their skills or get more wedding bookings, or that is thinking of setting up their own cake decorating business.

This class will teach you to create show stopping professional tiered cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. You will bake the cupcakes and cookies, before taking them home to share with family and friends. The tiered cake is dummy tiers, ideal for any budding wedding cake decorator, so you can keep the finished cake as a display model or to use at wedding fairs if you wish, and it means we can spend more time focusing on decorating techniques. You will use whatever colour scheme you choose, and luxury touches perfect for a weddings such as a floral hoop and metallic detailing.

In this class, you will cover:


Tiered Cakes


  • Cover dummy cakes professionally, including a hexagonal tier

  • Stack, level, and secure your cake

  • Create the perfect smooth finish with sugarpaste, and get sharp edges

  • Use stencils for effective detailing

  • Create a marble effect

  • Use finishing details to make your cake look perfect, including covering a board with fondant and using ribbons


Sugar Flowers


  • Create dramatic statement flowers 

  • Create useful filler foliage and buds

  • Use dusts to bring your flowers to life

  • Taping and arranging flowers on a hoop

  • Adding sugar flowers to your finished cakes




  • Baking the perfect vanilla cupcake

  • Using sugarpaste for a more luxury finish

  • Embossing and metallic detailing

  • Making simple sugar flowers to decorate your cupcakes


Decorated Sugar Cookies


  • Baking perfect sugar cookies

  • Decorating with royal icing 

  • Marbling technique

  • Working with painted metallic 

  • Piping royal icing roses and leaves
