Blossoms & Buds FLOWERS CLASS

This class is for students who want to expand their repertoire of sugar flowers, or simply want to learn some basic sugar craft skills. No experience is necessary. 


This class will teach you how to have confidence in creating a full range of really useful filler flowers and foliage and be able to arrange your creations into posies for use on your cakes. In this class we will be looking at making hydrangea, jasmine, lilacs, freesias, rose buds, small generic buds, berries, rose foliage and eucalyptus foliage.​ We will cover as many of the flowers/foliage listed as possible during the time, but what we are able to cover will very much depend on the speed of all students and we will never rush anybody. If there is something specific that you are keen to learn from the list of flowers/foliage, please let us know when booking and we will make sure we cover that first.​​

During this class you will learn how to:

  • Handle, colour and use florist paste

  • Use tools such as veiners, boards, cutters and other equipment to make your flowers look as realistic as possible

  • Use edible dusts and lustres to bring your flowers to life

  • Tape flowers and buds, and arrange them 

  • Troubleshoot common problems

  • And more!

You will leave the class with a set of basic sugar flower making skills and techniques that enable you to tackle other types of blooms and tweak your creations to suit your cake design, and a beautiful box of flowers.
