Terms and Conditions
We reserve the right to alter these conditions at any time. It is a condition of any bookings or purchase that the purchaser agrees to these Terms and Conditions as part of the booking or purchase process, and during the online booking/purchase process you will be required to tick a box to say you have read and agreed to them before being able to proceed.
For the purposes of this article, the term ‘cake(s)’ is interchangeable with cupcakes, cakes, cookies, or any other goods we may produce during classes. ‘We’ or ‘us’ refers to The Cake College Limited.
Classes/Bookings
If you wish to make a class booking, please use the secure online booking system. You will receive a booking confirmation email once the transaction is complete with further information about the class and location - if this is not received please check your junk/spam folder as they often go in to there. If at any stage you have any questions about the class or your booking, please email us at hello@thecakecollege.com
We reserve the right to alter class content at any time.
If we have to cancel a class for any reason, then you can choose between switching to a different date, or receiving a full refund. Refunds will be processed as quickly as possible, but please allow 7-10 days for the refund to appear back on your payment card.
We require a minimum of 3 bookings to run a class. In the very unlikely event that we have to cancel a class, we will offer you an alternative date, or a full refund. We will not be liable for reimbursing any expenses or costs resulting from us cancelling a workshop or class, including (but not limited to) travel arrangements or hotel bookings. By booking your class or workshop with us you accept that our liability is fully limited to the cost of the class.
Please choose the date you book a class carefully as unfortunately we are not able to offer refunds or date changes if you cancel or do not attend for any reason, including (but not limited to) illness, a change in personal circumstances, travel problems or adverse weather. This applies to payment made with gift vouchers as well. We strongly suggest you consider taking out an insurance policy out in case you have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. In exceptional circumstances, students who are unable to attend may transfer to another date if we have enough notice of their non-attendance and are able to re-sell their class place to another student. This is solely at the discretion of The Cake College Ltd.
We reserve the right to cancel a booking or to refuse entry to any person, without specific reason. A full refund will be given should this occur.
Payment
Payment may be made using our secure online payment system, via credit or debit card, and/or a gift voucher. If you wish to pay by cheque please contact us on 0118 976 1798, or hello@thecakecollege.com. All bookings must be made, and paid for, in advance.
We reserve the right to alter our pricing at any time.
Refunds given if we have to cancel a class will be free of any fees, but a refund given for any other reason will have a 10% Admin Fee to cover the fees and charges we incur when receiving/refunding a payment or part payment.
Instalment payments
For some classes, you can spread the cost out by paying in instalments. There will usually be 3 instalments due. Payment of the first instalment will be due when booking to secure your place, with the remaining payment(s) spread before the class start date. The final payment must be made at least 1 week before the class date. To pay by instalments, please contact us via email and we will arrange this for you. Invoices will be sent for each instalment, and an invoice can be paid via credit or debit card. All invoices include a link to these Terms and Conditions, which are in effect once the first invoice is paid.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that the full fees have been paid in good time before your class. Your place on the class will be reserved from the time the initial booking is made. However, if the balance payment(s) are not completed by the due date(s), the place will become available for others to book. The initial payment(s) is/are not refundable under any circumstances if a place is lost due to late payment of the outstanding balance so please do make a careful note of the invoice due dates and ensure they are all paid on time.
Gift Vouchers
You may also purchase gift vouchers for full or part payment of any of our classes. If you are buying a gift for somebody, we strongly recommend purchasing gift vouchers rather than booking a class place for them. Purchasing a gift voucher does not guarantee the recipient a place in a specific class, or a class on a specific day/date. Purchasing a gift voucher means that the purchaser has read, and agreed to, our Terms and Conditions on behalf of the recipient. All gift cards and vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase after which they expire and cannot be extended or renewed under any circumstances, but if the recipient of a gift voucher cannot use it before the expiry date for any reason, then they may transfer the gift voucher in to another name for somebody else to use. Gift vouchers can be redeemed on the online checkout page. If the amount can only cover part payment a credit or debit card will be required to pay the remaining balance to secure the booking at the time of the gift card redemption. If the class chosen is a lower price than the gift card value, then the residual value will remain on the gift card until the expiration date, at which point it will be lost. If you lose a gift voucher that has been purchased, please contact us and it can be sent again. Gift vouchers are not refundable under any circumstances.
Allergies and liability
If you wish to book a class and use gluten free or dairy free ingredients, please do contact us before booking to check that this is possible for the class you are considering. Please note that even if we can provide gluten/egg/dairy free ingredients for your use, our kitchen cannot be made allergen free. Previous students will have used milk, eggs, nuts, wheat and other ingredients regularly, and your fellow students in your class may be using them alongside you too. Any equipment you use (including the fridges, ovens and hobs) will be shared between students in classes. Therefore although everything is cleaned regularly and thoroughly, we cannot guarantee it will be free of traces of allergens and unfortunately we are unable to provide separate/new equipment solely for your use. We will do our best to accommodate any dietary requirements, and are happy to send ingredients lists in advance if made aware of a student's allergy or dietary requirement, but please note it is your responsibility to check any ingredient labels if you do have an allergy or dietary requirement. The classes are held in a domestic environment, therefore if you have a severe allergy (including, but not limited to, nuts, dust or pet hair), please consider whether this is an appropriate environment for you to enjoy the class in before booking.
You attend our classes completely at your own risk, we will not be liable for any injuries or accidents that occur during your class. We will also not be liable for any damage to property, cars or other items are left on site at your own risk.
