Beginners Bread Class
Discover the joy of bread making in this hands-on class, specially designed for complete beginners and taught by our brilliant in-house baker, Steph.
Over the course of the day, we will guide you step-by-step through the fundamentals of working with yeast dough, helping you build confidence as you create a delicious range of breads and enriched bakes from scratch.
You’ll make a beautiful selection to take home, including a classic white bloomer, honey wholemeal tin loaf, soft cinnamon buns, and flavourful cheese and herb rolls.
All equipment and ingredients are provided. We will share expert tips throughout, answering any questions you may have so you feel fully confident continuing your bread making at home.
You’ll leave with a wonderful collection of freshly baked breads, a new set of skills, and detailed class notes with all the tried-and-tested recipes, emailed to you after the course.
During this class you will learn how to:
• How to mix, knead, prove, and shape yeast dough, and recognise the visual and tactile signs of each stage

• How to judge when your dough is properly proved and ready to bake for the best possible rise and texture

• How to troubleshoot common bread making problems
• The confidence and knowledge to continue bread making successfully in your own kitchen
