THE MACARON MASTERCLASS
Discover the art of creating beautiful French macarons in a hands-on masterclass with Chef Ida at The Flour Barn.
With their smooth, colourful shells, delicate feet and deliciously chewy centres, macarons are a pleasure to make and to share.
This hands-on class will guide you through the techniques behind these beautiful little creations, with expert tuition and individual attention throughout from our team of tutors.
Following Ida’s demonstration, you’ll make your own batch using the Italian meringue method. From preparing the almond mixture and cooking the sugar syrup to colouring, folding and piping your shells, you’ll learn what to look for at each stage and how to achieve consistent results.
Ida will also demonstrate a white chocolate and lemon ganache, balancing creamy sweetness with fresh citrus. You’ll then use ganache prepared in advance to fill and decorate your own macarons.
With just six students in a class, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from Ida and the team.
Everyone works on their own batch, creating approximately 24 filled macarons to take home, beautifully boxed to share or enjoy yourself!
Suitable for beginners and home bakers looking to develop their skills. No previous macaron-making experience is needed.
All ingredients, equipment and a box to take your macarons home are included.
Please note: this class uses almonds, eggs and dairy.
